The Things We Never Know

We thank God for all the goodness we have in life. We remember when He answered that prayer for mom’s health, guided our steps toward the right job, kept us strong when we struggled with faith and lead us straight to the cafe where we met our spouse. We thank God for what we see, but do we remember to thank Him for what we don’t see?

God’s Protection Works behind the Scenes

When following our own lead, we find well-disguised traps and crooked paths we could happily and willfully walk right into without a second thought. We may even feel tempted to think we can handle situations that really put us in danger of compromising our faith.

When following God’s lead, we may never meet with some of those moments. Often they get pushed out of our path, quietly, by a God who works behind the scenes on our behalf.

We can read this in the Bible:

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Psalm 91:14-16

Thank you, Lord, for protecting us from all the dangers we never end up meeting or even knowing.
