Ah, the first post. Always an interesting place to start. Like every other starting point in our lives, we anticipate it leading somewhere great, but as the title of this site suggests, it also requires going by faith.
God is good. Many of us know what God is capable of doing, and many of us are still learning. I find myself falling into both categories. With eagerness, reflection, some-of-the-time frustration and much-of-the-time humbling, it feels good to seek God. It feels refreshing and right.
When We Seek God…
…our lives change. It seems like the moment we turn around, the moment we finally say, “Enough–you lead,” God appears. It may not happen in the way we want it or ask for it because, well, what do we know? But we feel it because we have extended more than a hand; we have admitted defeat and extended our soul. God works there.
We can seek God together. We can find others seeking God and get connected. Most importantly, we can practice what we’re learning with everyone we meet. We’ll stumble and grow, stumble and grow some more.
Blessings and love to you!
Thank you for sharing your faith with me. I needed it so much. I can’t wait to meet you. Love, Erin
Jen,
This is so true. When we accept defeat in trying to do and handle everything ourselves and feel like we are walking through sand is when we say Ok God, you do it! When I finally realized that I can’t do it all on my own is such a good lesson. It actually takes a lot of pressure off and you can find some peace. Thank you Jen for this post!
Hugs,
Trac =)
Thank you Erin — your support is much appreciated!
Tracy, I know what you mean. It reminds me of the verse “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Actually found a great post about it this morning http://bit.ly/avk6pu . Not only is the post inspiring, but so are the comments.
Mt 11:28-30
Jesus said to the crowds:
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”
